Stephen A. Mongelluzzo

Stephen A. Mongelluzzo, 90, of Waterbury, CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home on Thursday, April 10, 2025. He was the loving husband of Carol (Lavorgna) Mongelluzzo for close to 65 years.

Stephen was born in Waterbury, on August 15, 1934, the son of the late Stephen and Rose (Angelicola) Mongelluzzo. He attended Leavenworth High School in Waterbury. For many years, he worked at Anaconda American Brass/Ansonia Copper & Brass, where he retired from as the Maintenance Superintendent. He was an Army veteran, who served from 1955 to 1963.

Stephen could always be found tending to his garden and canning tomatoes. He was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.

Besides his wife, Stephen leaves two daughters; Marie Berardi, and Lisa Corey and her husband Paul, all of Waterbury, two grandchildren; Anthony Berardi and Carolyn Corey, his sister in-law, Mary Rubano, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Philomena D’Ambrosi & Rose Calabro.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to his nurses at Watertown VNA -  especially Krysti Hall, and aides; Amanda, Crystal, Stacia, and Gloria.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Waterbury, CT, on Monday, April 14, at 10:00 A.M. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury.
